Dr. Zina A. Berry is one of a handful of black dentists in the Syracuse area.
Syracuse boasts just 10 black dentists, only four of them women. Berry, who owns and operates the Berry Good Dental Care PC, received her bachelor of science degree in chemistry at Fisk University. After that she attended Meharry Medical College of Dentistry.

- The Alpha Omega Award (after ranking No. 1 in her class)
- The American Association of Endodontics Award (recognizing her excellence in performing root canals)
- The Pierre Fauchard Academy International Honor Dental Organization Award (a prestigious honor given to the leading academic achiever at each accredited dental school)
Berry opened her single-dentist practice in December 1999. She explained, "I felt inhibited" working for others. I wanted the ability to perform multiple procedures and be able to provide a number of services to my patients. Private practice affords me that opportunity."
She's licensed to practice dentistry by the states of New York, Tennessee and Ohio.
