Grant Guidlines

The Rosamond Gifford Charitable Corporation seeks to assist the community through grantmaking that is consistent with our Strategic Plan. Priorities for the Foundation include supporting those organizations engaged in system change, those that empower our youth, and those who serve underrepresented and marginalized groups within our community. To address the needs in the community, Gifford seeks to fund innovative and creative ways of helping individuals, strengthening families and communities. In addition, the Foundation seeks to provide support for those agencies engaged or willing to engage in partnership and collaborative efforts that extend beyond mere cooperation.

Grant Information - Grant applications are reviewed three times each year. Deadlines for submission of completed applications are February 1, May 1, and October 1. All applicants to Gifford should call in advance to discuss proposal concepts. We may require a meeting prior to proposal development. We require review of all draft proposals 60-days prior to formal submittal.

Guidlines For $10,000 or More - The following guidelines provide the desired application format. For formal submissions please submit an email version plus an original and two copies via regular mail Applicants are also asked to provide a 3.5 disk with all pertinent materials (MS Word, Excel or JPEGs only, please.) The disk should be labeled with the agency/organization name, contact person’s name and phone and proposed project. Staple completed applications, marking the copy with the attachments “Original”.

Guidlines For $10,000 or Less - The Gifford Foundation offers an opportunity to simplify the application process for funding requests that are $10,000 or less. The following guidelines (abbreviated from our standard guidelines) are prepared to assist you in your application. Please call us prior to your submittal for preliminary assessment and to help us learn more about your proposal. You can submit this type of proposal at any time during the year. Your application will be reviewed within a two month period.

Help Sheet - Grant applications can seem daunting, even to the most seasoned grant writer.
