Syracuse, NY (ENet News) - I would say without hesitation, that the Syracuse Juneteenth is not a day of celebrating freedom but it is a day of celebrating knowledge. Knowledge of self and others is the real freedom.
That’s right I said it. I implore you to watch the movie Roots if you have not seen it. You will plainly see that the characters in the movie are true to life in this so-called Syracuse Juneteenth.
Let’s think about this together.
Remember, Kunta, the man that knew his real name, his culture, and his GOD…and he told everyone without hesitation who he was…
Well, in the movie their were uncle toms…and unfortunately there are uncle toms in Syracuse Juneteenth. But, the real freedom is recognizing the knowledge of self and others…because if you keep doing the same thing you keep on getting the results…..that’s right I said it!
Are we again being bamboozled, hoodwinked, or is the wool being pulled over our eyes.
Several years ago, (reference old Post Standard article) it was said that Syracuse Juneteenth would have an organizer that looked like the executive director of the Southwest Community Center after a few years. If anyone knows if the organizer looks like someone with wool hair and feet like brass let me know…if he or she does not have those characteristics then, I say to you with my most humble opinion do not support events, activities, or community centers that do not have your best interest at heart…
On a side note:
1. Remember juneteenth started in Texas.
2. The black man start it in emancipation park and started his own thing
3. The slave master wanted to integrate and be diverse
4. Now, we black folks, give overall juneteenth to the female wife or sister of our slave master
5. Who is selecting or electing for juneteenth…and who is benefiting from this…
